Competitive Advantage: The company operates a fleet that is in A+ condition with top-of-the-line specs. Each truck currently averages 90,000 miles per year, and each is replaced every three to four years, which compares favorably to industry norms of about 65,000 miles per year. Its matched fleet of trucks and trailers are mostly still under drive-train warranty. Co An aggressive service and repair program is supported by extensive maintenance records. All services on small and large components are up to date, and all motors are sampled at every service with oil analysis. All motor repairs are performed only by the engine manufacturer. It operates a fully equipped parts room and service truck as well as its own tire service. All trucks are washed weekly in the company’s new wash bay. The company has upgraded to wide-base tires for increased fuel economy generating savings of between $60 thousand to $70 thousand annually.
